Are you constantly staring at the blank walls in your home, not knowing how or where to start? You'll want to stick around! We have the perfect tips and tricks to get those walls filled —quickly, accurately and aesthetically.

Types of Gallery Walls

Structured

AnnaWithLoveShop

The first type of gallery wall is structured; where all of the pieces are perfectly in-line. This look is ideal for those who prefer a more symmetrical, low-key look. Do you have a bunch of the same frames and same sized pictures? You may want to create your very own structured gallery wall!

Not Structured

WhiteDahliaDesign

The second type of gallery wall is free or not structured; where the pieces are more sporadic in nature. While they may seem more random and eclectic, they do have an order to them. These gallery walls radiate outward from the focal point, taking you on a journey along the way. This look is great for those awkwardly shaped rooms that you just don't know what to do with.

Hang Frames Fast

Painters Tape

This trick will be the holy-grail to your interior design ventures! Instead of creating unnecessary holes in your wall from constantly reposition your frames or artwork, get it right the first time with these 5 steps:

STEP 1: Line the back of your frames or prints with painters tape.

STEP 2: Peel the tape off in one piece and stick it onto the desired surface of your wall. Repeat these steps with all of your frames. This will show you how it will look and you can easily move the tape around till you are happy with the gallery layout.

STEP 3: Measure the distance between the top of the frame and the hook on the frame. Measure the same distance from the top of the tape to mark out where to put the nail in the wall. You can also measure between each frame in order to ensure that they are evenly spaced for structured gallery walls.

STEP 4: Place a level on top of the tape to ensure that it is level, and with a pencil, mark where the nail will go.

STEP 5: Grab your hammer and voila!

This trick will save you so much time and will prevent you from needing wall fillers.

Velcro Strips

Sticky velcro strips are perfect for those hard to hang spots! Say you want to feel at home in your place, but are renting and cannot be bothered with having to plaster up any holes you make during your tenancy. Or say you have concrete walls that are tough to drill through. Velcro straps are the solution you seek! Not only do they not leave any residue, they can hold up to 16 pounds each!

Tips On What To Include

Your walls should be as unique as you are! Photographs and paintings are not the only objects available to fill up your blank walls. Do not be afraid to use a variety of textiles in your design; such as, textured fabrics, images from magazines, pretty postcards, or funky wallpaper. If you are working on a budget, these options are a great solution!
